Quickstart Guide

This guide will walk you through setting up your wallet and making your first trade on Limora.
Before proceeding, please ensure you are not located in a Disqualified Jurisdiction.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you’ll need:

EVM Wallet

MetaMask, WalletConnect, or any compatible wallet

ETH on Base

Small amount for gas fees (~$1-2 worth)

USDC

Trading collateral on Base network

Step 1: Set Up Your Wallet

Install MetaMask

If you don’t have a wallet, install MetaMask as a browser extension or mobile app.

Add Base Network

Add the Base network to your wallet: | Setting | Value | |---------|-------| | Network Name | Base | | RPC URL | https://mainnet.base.org | | Chain ID | 8453 | | Currency Symbol | ETH | | Block Explorer | https://basescan.org | Or use Chainlist to add it automatically.

Bridge Funds to Base

Transfer ETH and USDC to Base using the official Base bridge or a third-party bridge like Stargate.

Step 2: Connect to Limora

Visit the Platform

Navigate to app.limora.trade in your browser.

Connect Wallet

Click the Connect Wallet button in the top-right corner.

Approve Connection

Select your wallet provider and approve the connection request in your wallet.

Accept Terms

Read and accept the Terms of Service and Legal Disclaimer to continue.

Step 3: Deposit Collateral

Before opening trades, deposit collateral to your trading balance:

Navigate to Balances

Click on Balances in the sidebar navigation.

Select Token

Choose USDC (or another supported collateral token).

Enter Amount

Input the amount you want to deposit for trading.

Confirm Transaction

Approve the deposit transaction in your wallet.
Only deposit funds you can afford to lose. Leveraged trading carries significant risk.

Step 4: Open Your First Trade

Now you’re ready to open a leveraged position:

Go to Trade Page

Click Trade in the sidebar to access the trading interface.

Select Trading Pair

Choose your desired trading pair (e.g., BTC/USDC).

Choose Direction

Select Long if you expect the price to rise, or Short if you expect it to fall.

Set Position Size

Enter your collateral amount and select your desired leverage (start with 2-5x if you’re new).

Set Risk Management

Configure your Stop-Loss and Take-Profit levels: - Stop-Loss: Price at which to close the position to limit losses - Take-Profit: Price at which to close the position to lock in gains

Review and Confirm

Review your order details: - Entry price - Liquidation price - Total position size - Fees Click Open Trade and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Step 5: Monitor Your Position

After opening a trade:

Position Details

Your active trades will display:
  • Entry Price: The oracle price when your trade was opened
  • Current Price: Real-time oracle price
  • Unrealized P&L: Your current profit or loss
  • Liquidation Price: Price at which your position will be automatically closed

Step 6: Close Your Position

When you’re ready to exit:
  1. Navigate to your active trades
  2. Click the Close button on the position you want to exit
  3. Confirm the closing transaction in your wallet
  4. Funds (minus fees and any losses) will be returned to your balance

Troubleshooting

  • Check that you have enough ETH for gas fees - Try increasing the gas limit in your wallet - Wait for network congestion to clear
  • Ensure you’re on the Base network - Try refreshing the page - Clear your browser cache and reconnect - Try a different browser or wallet
  • Your trade may be waiting for a matcher to provide liquidity - Check the Pending Trades page for status - Larger positions may take longer to match
